Crohn's and Colitis UK is a vibrant national charity based in St Albans. We provide support and information for patients and families living with these conditions, known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD, campaign for better health services for IBD patients, and raises funds for research.  We have nearly 31,000 members, 70 volunteer Groups and 1,000 volunteers.

Information Officer

Salary range £ 23,500 to £25,000 on scale rising to £28,000 plus contributory pension. Full-time 35 hours per week

Based in St Albans, Crohn's and Colitis UK aims to improve life for everyone affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), the most common forms being Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Together these conditions affect about 240,000 people in the United Kingdom.

The main activities of the charity are to provide information to all IBD patients and their families, support its members, raise awareness of IBD across the UK, campaign for improved IBD health care and fund research.

We are looking for someone who is keen to develop a career in multi-channel helpline services. You would join our team of Information Officers, who respond to individual queries on health, welfare benefits and related issues. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to give complex information in an easily understood and sensitive way. You should be able to work effectively as a member of a team and have an interest in helping us to develop our web-based communications. This is a full-time post, based in our office in St Albans.

Marketing and Fundraising Team
Development Assistant

Salary range: £16,995 - £20,377 pa plus contributory pension.
Full-time post (35 hours per week) based at our St Albans office.

Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a growing national charity based in St Albans. A Development Assistant is required to help with the Team’s general work with some focus on new projects and funding applications. This work will include assisting with research, applications and reports to funders, creating and commissioning marketing materials and newsletters, legacy and In Memory giving, special projects from time to time and general administration, including financial processing.

Skills required include an excellent standard of written and spoken English, a friendly and efficient telephone manner, numeracy and accurate IT skills.

Administration Assistant (Christmas cards)

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) based at our St Albans office for a fixed term of 17 September to 13 December 2013. Salary: £15,324 pa pro rata.

Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a growing national charity based in St Albans. An Administration Assistant is required to help with the administration of the charity’s Christmas card including taking and processing orders and payments, following up on queries, and preparing for order fulfilment. The post holder may also be required to help with the Team’s general work.

Skills required include a good standard of written and spoken English, a friendly and efficient telephone manner, numeracy and accurate IT skills including experience of using a database.

Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a growing national charity based in St Albans. An Administration Assistant is required to help with the administration of the charity’s national raffle, including processing entries and payments, following up on queries and securing ticket stubs pending the draw. The post holder may also be required to help with the Team’s general work.
Skills required include a good standard of written and spoken English, a friendly and efficient telephone manner, numeracy and accurate IT skills including experience of using a database.
